Do I need to be a member of the Club to have lessons?

No. However, becoming a member offers you discounted fees for your coaching sessions, and allows you to play outside of your coaching session.

What should I wear?

All players need to wear non-marking trainers on the courts. Any sports clothing is fine, this does not need to be white.

Do I need my own racket?

No. All equipment is provided for all coaching sessions.

I am new to the programme, what coaching session should I start in?

Initially base this on age, if unsure please ring the coaching team and a decision can be made on age, previous sporting experience and standard of other players within the group. All coaching sessions are flexible and players can move at any time.

Can I join a course part way through?

Yes. The cost will then be calculated pro rata for the remaining weeks.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

Occasionally sessions will be cancelled due to rain and condition of the courts. We will inform players by text message. We will also aim to send out an email and post updates on our Facebook page. Please ensure your contact details are correct and up to date.

All players will be given credit for any sessions cancelled by the coaching team.

How do we pay for the coaching course?

Payment is due at the start of each course. Please see the coaching board or website for details. Payment is accepted by cash, cheque (Tennis Coaching at Thistleworth) or via BACS transfer (sort code,

Do I need to fill out a registration form at the beginning of each course?

No. This just needs to be filled in at the beginning of the season or when you start with us. Please let us know ASAP if any of your contact details change.
